The Price You Pay (Single)

by The Primary

1.
No place called home, you rolling stone It's the price you pay to live this way You got to give up something to be someone It's the price you pay You got to be somebody to get somewhere It's the price you pay Well I know that I'm going to get somewhere one of these days No place called home, you rolling stone It's the price you pay to live this way Well I know that I'm going to get somewhere, you're damn straight But I don't know where I might land It's all to fate I'm going to do my thing, try to live my dream Just need to, just need to breathe God I swear I am so confused and scared of all this Struggled hard but there's always something there It's my pride, it's what I say Sometimes I hide, Can't find my way The price is paid but we're not as young so you can see yeah Struggled hard but we've overcome our fears We have pride (give it all) It brings us home (to be one) We won't hide (of the tall) Let's roll this stone (here we come) No place called home, you rolling stone It's the price you pay to live this way
2.
Something falls in our minds, it will be the end of us Empty guns shoot us up, mental strikes, internal strife All I'm saying, all I'm saying Bide our time with the flies The updrafts can blind our eyes Solemn hopes of our fathers, windswept, scattered under the sun The clouded sun, the clouded sun Don't be so unaffected I can see, I can see it's all going to be that way All in time, in our time The winds sway, our memories fade, we don't care, we're not here anymore Stolid lives, downward cries Moonlight's foremost in our eyes Draw our breath before the plunge, sacred hearts have all been sung All I'm saying, all I'm saying is don't be so unaffected The day is spent, our time we lent to unabridged exploits and fits Still something falls in our minds, it will be the end of this

about

"The Price You Pay" was the band's first release in over two years and captures The Primary trying for a more mainstream sound. This single was bittersweet as it would be the last recording Jose Levario, one of the original members, would appear in The Primary catalog as he decided to assume a more business oriented role. This release also features a fantastic remix of "All In Time" by band friend Reconstruction Era, an early acoustic demo of "The Price You Pay", and an alternative version of the song the band considered before completing the official version.

Taken from SoundOut music reviewers who got a sneak peek of the single:

"Good rhythm to the song in the intro that gives a good feeling to the song and is really melodic. The part after the intro is good also
and shows that the vocalist knows what he's doing. The vocalists voice is great and he really can sing this style of music as it really is not easy
and puts a great strain on the voice. The vocalist seems to be very talented and i liked his voice very much and the effects in the background really help him. The guitar solo shortly before the end was epic and gives the song what it needs. The lyrics carry their message and are well chosen. The lyrics are great on the chorus and made it catchy and easy to sing together with the vocal. The song is
great and would be awesome to hear live or in some club as it gives a good stage to be danced on. The end made the song
complete and it makes you want to hear more. Keep making such music i liked it very much."

"A very energetic song, full of power and suggestion power. The singer proves that he has a gifted voice, he has a great inflection
ability, meaning that he can sing very easily a full octave or even more with one breath, which is very rare. He can jump from a low
note to a high one without problems and that is true when starting from a high note and decreases to a low one."

"Impressive band play with some really energized instrumental play, lovely riffing on the song. Love the nonstop guitar which adds lots
of flavor on the song. Strong expressive singing voice with some clearly heard and recorded vocals. Solid song structure with some
nice arrangement. Good commercial effort and a nice composition."
